"Polanica zdrój is beautiful. The town wallow in sunlight, greenery and azure (...). Everything seems to be somehow different here. Even biggest gloomy after few days of being here lights up his face. Daring and acquisitive thoughts come to mind, (...) and the girls are like colorful butterflies, flying charmful in a dance, in the park and on promenade" - that's how Gustaw Morcinek has described Polanica 50 years ago.
And today nothing has changed. The promenade and park zdrojowy are favorite walk places for families and for lovers, in large numbers visiting Polanica. A romantic walk, especially in the evening,  watching the fountains,a tête à tête in one of coffee bars become recollections, that will cherish the growing feeling. The lovers journeys are new trend in tourism. Polanica also organizes that kind of journeys, taking advantage of its beauty, a heart in its crest, and many romantic stories from the past.  Roman Polański's father met his second wife here. As Roma Ligocka (a cousine of the director) writes in her memoirs "The girl in the red raincoat": on demand of his bride Ryszard has changed his name from Lieblieng to Polański - in memory of the town, where they met for the first time.
